Get an SMS alert on your mobile when received an email on Gmail

Email is very useful service in this era. Everyone have their own email and use it for their personal / business use. Companies also have their emails to communicate with their customers.
Most popular email service is Gmail from Google. Gmail have a lot of functionalities inducing spam protection and two step login etc.
There are many plugins for browser to get notify when you received a mail to your inbox.
But this only happens when you are online or connected to internet. What if you are not connected to internet?
Today we will learn how you can get an SMS alert when you received any email in your Gmail's inbox.

Things that you need:

1. A new Twitter account.
2. Your Gmail account.
3. Account on IFTTT.

Lets start setting up:

1. Logout from your existing twitter account and create a new one.
2. Make your tweets protected so no one can see your personal tweets.


3. After creating and setting up your new twitter account, Go to the incognito mode of your browser and login to your existing twitter account and follow the account that you have created now and approve your account following request yourself.
4. Now go to IFTTT and create an account there, if you already have account then skip this step.
5. Click on My Recipes and then Create a Recipe.
6. Now click on Underlined this word and search for Gmail trigger.
7. Authorize IFTTT from the appeared popup.
8. Here you select "New email in inbox from Search" as mentioned below.
9. In the text box appeared below Search for, type below keywords.
is:important is:unread in:inbox newer_than:1d
Note: You can also add your own Search Queries, this will notify you about important mails, new unread mails (not older mails).
10. In the next step as you authorize Gmail, authorize your new twitter account with IFTTT.
11. Select to post a tweet, 1st option in the triggers.
12. Now in the Complete action fields, in the the text box below Tweet Text, write text shown below.
{{Subject}} 
From: {{FromAddress}} 
This will send you the Subject of the mail and the email from which you received email.
You can also add more fields by clicking on blue button shown top right in the text box.
